#23 At’s A Nice Pizza Romeoville, IL
Friday night (3/06/2009) Cathy and I went to a nice small restaurant in Romeoville.
The place had the look of being a family business, with a lot of pictures at the entrance of the owner with a good variety of sports stars. Appears to be a Bear, Bulls and a WHITE SOX fan (worth a 1/2 pizza cutter)! So it starts off with a great impression. The restaurant has a HUGE plasma screen right in the middle of the room, however, they had a story of Siegfried and Roy on rather than the Bull's game (lost a 1/2 pizza cutter).
The pizza was a "Medium Thickness with a Hand Braided Edge" with Cheese, Sausage, Mushrooms, Onions, Pepperoni and Green Peppers. The crust was very typical pizza crust, crispy with a Hand Braided Edge. It looked pretty and was good but nothing memorable. I want my crust to be memorable, dammit! However, to be fair, Cathy thought the crust was very good! For the rest, the sauce was a very good marinara sauce with a nice hint of fresh herbs. The meats and veggies were very good, with the veggies being huge and freshly cut.
Overall, a very good pizza but I felt the crust did not If I live nearby I would go there again but maybe try one of the other crusts.
